Steven, a Midwest native, started his culinary career at the age of 17 in his hometown of Jackson, Michigan, waiting tables and cooking at a local diner. He continued to work at local restaurants while attending college to study Psychology when he decided to follow his passion for food and cooking as a career. Looking for more cultural diversity and warmer climates, Steven moved to Florida and attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Miami. Upon completion of culinary school Steven jumped at the opportunity to intern abroad at El Rincon in Fuenlabrada, Madrid, Spain. After returning to the USA, Steven worked at various fine restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area culminating in Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Pastry Chef and Interim Executive Chef positions at the acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant Market 17. Chef Steven’s love for the water and adventure made for a natural transition to the yachting industry in 2012. The following year he took place in his first Chef’s Competition at the Newport Yacht Charter Show and deservedly brought home the 1st place prize! Chef Steven’s style is a symphony of classic French and Spanish techniques married with Caribbean, Latin and Mediterranean flavors. His farm-to-table background emphasizes heavily on great local ingredients, fresh herbs and international spices. Chef Steven is happy to customize menus to personal tastes, eating habits and dietary restrictions.
Kelly was raised in the suburbs of Richmond, Virginia where he still calls home. He played sports throughout his childhood (mostly baseball and basketball). At one point, Kelly wanted to be a dentist so he studied Biology at Hampden – Sydney College, however when his focus shifted to his love of cooking, he attended the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy in Orlando, FL (his first job was at the famous Jackson’s Steakhouse in Ft Lauderdale). Here he went from Line Cook to Executive Sous Chef in 5 years before moving on to the elegant Johnny V. This was followed by a couple of Executive Chef positions and in 2008, Kelly went to help out at the Newport Yacht Charter Show. This began his 3 year freelance yachting career after which he chose to be a permanent yacht chef. His technique relies mostly on French basics, although he is diverse, loving Asian flavors and sushi, seafood, and light Mediterranean cuisine. Kelly ensures that each meal is customized, sourcing locally and adapting this to the individual preferences. Personally though, he does love southern American food! Kelly is a skilled pastry chef where he can be most creative. He says “there is more of a science to baking pastries than one would imagine” which perfectly suits his biology background. For tools, he loves a good skillet, a sharp knife and a solid cutting board. “On Food and Cooking”, written by Harold McGee is Kelly’s favorite go- to book . He prides himself on working efficiently in a condensed space and his emphasis is on perfect timing (pacing courses and getting the food out hot). Kelly likes to stay at the top of his game by checking out the restaurants wherever he is at. He truly loves this work and feels immediately gratified by making people happy with his offerings.
Kaitlin grew up outside of Newport, Rhode Island where she, her parents, and three siblings spent their time at the beaches during the summer and skiing in the winters. She is the proud aunt to three nephews and one niece. She joined the yachting industry in 2008 because she loves to travel and be on the ocean. Kaitlin says that CHASSEUR is the most beautiful yacht she has ever been on and the vibe which the boat creates is unlike any other. She has a very positive character and is an expert at maintaining the even keel throughout stressful situations. Kaitlin takes immense pride in her work and leads by setting positive examples for everyone else to follow, all the while striving to create a fun but professional atmosphere. She shines during charters as she loves being creative and really “wowing” each and every guest. Kaitlin brings a lot of laughter to the boat, she loves to make dorky jokes and feels fortunate to be part of such a great charter program!

Clive was born and raised in Windhoek, Namibia to a family of aviation and is a twin (his twin sister is even married to a triplet!). Their holidays were at the coast and in guest lodges owned by family friends all over the country. Clive played in-line hockey in high school and coached a club team before being selected to play for the National team. One of the highlights was playing in the 2006 World Cup in Helsinki, Finland. Here he studied further and did his trade test to become certified. His invaluable work experience includes time in Swakopmund, Namibia and for a year in Angola. In 2010 Clive came into the yachting industry which he finds keeps his mind challenged – he enjoys continuing to learn new things and pushes himself to do the best possible job all the time. He has an excellent work ethic and is thoughtful and measured in his actions. Being involved in the build on CHASSEUR has been an exciting challenge which he has handled well – he has a knack for learning systems quickly when thrown in the deep end. Clive enjoys the crew dynamic on board and always looks for the best qualities in people and the positives in every situation. Although he has a quiet demeanor, Clive is approachable and comfortable to confide in. He is very much at home in the engine room where music inspires him.

Hunter eagerly entered the yachting industry in 2014 as it was an opportunity to work with his hands and on boats, while traveling – appealing to all his interests! Nick was born in Indianapolis (the capital of Indiana) where his close Midwestern family spent their summer vacations on the lakes with his many cousins. At 13 years old, Nick’s family moved to Ft Myers, Florida and here he attended a Catholic middle school & high school. When not playing football or lacrosse he was either wakeboarding, skiing or kiteboarding – anything on the water! Nick majored in Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Florida Gulf Coast University; however, his career path took him in a different direction. During college, he sold mailing lists and advertising over the phone and worked on a parasail boat. Nick is definitely a “people person” and loves being face to face. He has “dabbled” in carpentry (he is a whiz with power tools) and has held a few different management positions. His aspiration when joining yachting in 2012 was to learn quickly, apply accurately, and solve problems. Nick is smart, logical, and according to his motivating supportive parents... BRILLIANT! He brings with him the wonderful Midwestern values of hard work, kindness and openness.
